The goal of UNLOCODE is to uniquely identify places in international trade. Main uses such as employed by trade and regulation papers and electronic information exchange, such as EDIFACT, in international trade and transport.
The private sector, government agencies, customs, international organizations, and others are the primary users. All places that are often utilized for goods movements linked with international trade are included in the scope.
