The publisher of paper BA charts and publications has raised the prices for the same, with effect from November 11th, 2021. These prices are raised annually, but due to the COVID pandemic, they will not be raised in 2020. However, this year’s price increase is more than 6% to cover 2020. As a result, authorized resellers are being forced to adjust their prices to account for the cost increase.
Increase in Air-Freight Charges of BA charts and publications
Air-Freight Charges will rise further as a result of the backlog and congestion in UK ports, as well as the upcoming peak festival season. The Freight Contractors update is included below regarding BA paper charts and publications.
Shipping ports in the United Kingdom are experiencing a shortage of containers and manpower, causing vessels to be turned away or forced to wait for several days. This has resulted in the conversion of sea freight to air freight, which, combined with an increase in cargo volume for the year-end festival season, has resulted in an acute airfreight space shortage and an increase in freight charges.

All airlines have raised their prices, and the projection for the fourth quarter and into the first quarter of 2022 is particularly hard, with freight costs projected to stay high owing to increasing demand.
Because of the significant rise in freight costs, authorized resellers are required to pass the cost on to their clients, resulting in price increases for all charts and publications imported from the United Kingdom and Europe. Nonetheless, suppliers are working closely with their freight providers to negotiate with several airlines in order to keep costs as low as feasible. We expect to be able to resume normal operations as soon as possible.
