Access Improvement Platforms for 6 islands
The integrated national public ferry network is a project led by the government that goes in line with the Decentralization Act of the Maldives aiming to connect the whole nation with an affordable, convenient, and reliable speed ferry service. It also aims to provide sustainable passenger and cargo ferry services across the country easing cargo delivery and benefiting customers and business owners with their deliveries.
Currently, the ferry network is implemented in H.Dh. Atoll only, with ferries operating free of charge at the moment. According to planning minister Aslam the free service aims to familiarize the public with the integrated national public ferry network. Speaking in the parliament yesterday the minister also informed that the ferry network will start in Haa Alif and Shaviyani Atoll by the end of July. The Implementation of access improvement platforms combined with the national ferry network completes a smooth journey for passengers across the Maldives. MTCC has been continuously taking over and progressing many development projects across the country.
