A Guide to correctly setup your Thrane & Thrane Sat-C SSAS terminal to be used with our system.
Setup Procedure for Thrane & Thrane 3000/6000 Series
To configure the INM-C for SSAS alerting with OTiS there are two options for setting the terminal up. The first method is using the TT3606E message terminal; the second is using a laptop connected to the interconnection box.
Method 1: TT3606E Message Terminal Thrane & Thrane Sat-C SSAS
To complete the configuration of the TT3603E, you will need to be in Terminal Mode.
In terminal mode, you are in direct contact with the transceiver and you are able to issue commands by typing them from the keyboard.
- Choose Options, Configuration, Terminal mode or press Alt + O then C, T on the keyboard and wait for the blinking cursor to appear. This may take a short while to connect.
- Press Enter to see the prompt ‘:’ on the screen.
You are now in terminal mode to send the required commands to configure the SSAS. Please skip to the INM-C SSAS configuration commands section.
Method 2: Laptop Telnet Connection
Using a laptop with a telnet session enables the same commands to be sent for SSAS configuration, however, the laptop will need to be connected to do so please follow the below.
Required Tools
● Laptop with DB-9 (RS232) serial connections; may require a USB to RS232 adaptor.
● DB-9 (RS232) serial cable.
Telnet Program
Recommended Hyper Terminal (usually available on Windows XP under Accessories > Communications).
Or Recommended Putty (a freely available telnet program that can be downloaded at http://www.putty.org/ for a laptop without XP)
Connecting the Laptop to the INM-C
The DB-9 (RS232) cable will connect to a 9pin port on the INM-C, the other end to the laptop, an USB to RS232 adaptor may be required.
Start the Telnet program and run the setup configuration for a new connection.
