Day of the Seafarer 2022, the annual Day of the Seafarer (DotS) will be held on June 25th this year.
Your voyage – then and now, share your journey.
Each seafarer’s journey is unique, yet they all confront the same problems. The Day of the Seafarers campaign for 2022, with the theme ‘Your voyage – then and now, share your journey,’ will look at seafarer journeys, what they contain, how they have developed over time, and what remains at the core of seafarers’ reality.
This initiative allows seafarers to discuss what is currently bothering them, whether it’s the unresolved crew change dilemma or the future of technology.

Campaign hashtags
#SeafarerJourney will be the new promotional hashtag for the 2022 campaign.
This year IMO is inviting mariners to share two images, one from their first journey and one from their most recent or most recent voyage, and tell IMO what’s changed.
- Is shipping more environmentally friendly?
- Is technology improving?
- Are you more knowledgeable?
- What have you discovered?
Anyone participating in the effort to honor sailors can use this hashtag. #SeafarerJourney
Another significant day is World Maritime Day, on which we glimpse a gleam of hope for a fair future for seafarers.
